A Hogtown Icon

Here’s another great picture of one of the icons of the city of Toronto; Maple Leaf Gardens.
Maple Leaf Gardens used to be the home of the NHL’s Toronto Maple Leafs and was the home of the team when they won their last Stanley Cup in 1967. Forty years later, the team has yet to win again, but they no longer play at MLG; they play at the Air Canada Centre, a much more accommodating and more modern building than Maple Leaf Gardens.
The building itself is still there and I think for the most part the city hasn’t decided yet exactly what to do with it, but I don’t know that for a fact. I was just looking through some pictures for something to post on the blog today and when I came across this picture I knew right away that it was going up onto the blog.
I’m still not sure what I’m going to write about next, now that Halloween’s over. The primary problem is that school at the current moment, through a number of coincidental classes having assignments due at the same time, is taking up most of my time and attention. I might do one more post like this tomorrow while I figure out what I want to do, but I should figure that out soon enough.
But, more on that tomorrow! For now, enjoy one of the symbols of Toronto Pride!
