The Toronto Traveler 2007 Year Review

As the Sun sets on 2007, I’d like to just take a few moments to talk about The Toronto Traveler. As many of you know, I actually started this blog in late October and it officially went live as part of the Travel & Culture channel of b5media in November. So, I haven’t been around that long, especially compared to the blogs that have been here for the whole year but I still feel that 2007 was a landmark year for The Toronto Traveler.
I guess if something is created in a certain year then that year automatically becomes a landmark year for the creation, but I think it is more than that. While I had lots of experience as a writer before coming to work for b5media, I didn’t know that much about the blogging platform in general and even in the short two months that I’ve officially been on the payroll I have already learned a lot about blogging both in terms of posts and promotions.
I’m looking to build on that knowledge in 2008 and create a blogging experience that is ultimately better for you the reader because if you enjoy yourself more as a reader of the blog, then I have a more rewarding feeling whenever I sit down to write a post. Specifically, I’m looking for ways to bring you as much about Toronto tourism and events as one person can do and I have a few ideas that I’m going to implement that will help me do just that. I’ve got a few ideas up my sleeve that I’d like to try out over the next couple of months, so you guys definitely have something to look forward to.
In any case, I’d just like to end off this post by thanking a few people that have been incredibly helpful to me ever since I’ve been here. I’d first like to thank everyone at the Travel & Culture channel for being so welcoming when I initially got up and running. In particular, I’d like to thank the channel editor Mary (also the author of the blogs The Seattle Traveler and Flyaway Cafe) for helping me get started and for giving me multiple nudges in the right direction. Also, Alex over at Sirened has given me two or three tips that have proven immensely helpful over time.
And lastly, I’d like to thank everyone that reads this blog on a regular basis. Your readership and feedback is what truly makes this a fun thing to do and I hope you continue to stay with The Toronto Traveler as I focus on making it a more regular and a better part of your day.

Thanks a bunch for the recognition Justin! That’s really nice of you and I really appreciate that.
I’m really glad that I was/am able to help you a bit. It’s the least I can do considering how much you’ve added to Sirened with not only leaving lots of comments, but lots of excellent comments!
So thank you Justin and happy New Year!
No problem bud, here’s to a successful 2008 for the both of us =)
