snowed in Toronto for awhile and even though there is no snow anywhere on the ground, city officials are still having problems with the weather. In particular, the wind. And that is what kicks off this edition of news from Toronto that travelers might find interesting.

1) Hydro crews are still scrambling to try and fix much of the fallout that has come from damages caused by heavy winds.

2) Raptors href="http://www.citynews.ca/news/news_18467.aspx">captain Mats Sundin vows to stay with the team. Looks like ticket prices are going to stay right where they have been for awhile, unfortunately for travelers and probably some residents too.

Post from: The Toronto Traveler

well well, if you picked January of 2008 (and in particular this week) to travel to Toronto, then you might be extremely glad or extremely frustrated depending on what you came to the city for. If you came here dreading the cold winters of Canada, then the fact that this has been the nicest winter on record is probably something you love. Of course, if you came here for the opposite reason, then you’re probably royally cheesed right about now. Well, the good news for the latter group of people is that if you’re staying for at least another [...]
Post from: <a travel to Toronto, then you might be extremely glad or extremely frustrated depending on what you came to the city for. If you came here dreading the cold winters of Canada, then the fact that this has been the nicest winter on record is probably something you love. Of course, if you came here for the opposite reason, then you’re probably royally cheesed right about now. Well, the good news for the latter group of people is that if you’re staying for at least another week, you should get a chance to experience at least some reasonable weather before you leave.

On that semi-bright note, here is this morning’s round-up of stories of interest to the travelers of Toronto

1) The Ontario thaw causes fog that in turn causes flight cancellations

2) The same thaw breaks a city temperature record

3) In the wake of the thaw, a few pedestrian deaths have sparked a safety warning

4) The Toronto Megacity is 10 years old! Does anybody care?

5) Parking ticket scams and how to tell the real thing

Post from: The Toronto Traveler
